GovMaker is the premier event in Atlantic Canada for advancing evidence-based policymaking, enhancing
government transparency, driving digital transformation, and promoting diversity and inter-sectoral collaboration.

Andy Scott Award for Social Innovation

This year at GovMaker for the first time, we awarded Sandi MacKinnon with the Andy Scott Award for Social Innovation.

The Andy Scott Award for Social Innovation is awarded to an individual whose work ignites positive social change in New Brunswick. This award celebrates a person who has dedicated themselves to social innovation and has sparked transformative initiatives and meaningful progress in their community and beyond, particularly in public engagement and cross-sectoral collaboration.

Named after Andy Scott, the late Member of Parliament and founder of the New Brunswick Social Policy Research Network, this award honours a leader who inspires others in their quest for a better world. The recipient of the Andy Scott Award for Social Innovation is creative and strategic and collaborates with others to offer solutions to their community’s most pressing problems. Through their work, recipients of the Andy Scott Award in Social Innovation have demonstrated an ability to affect real and lasting social change.
